Our post-master’s certificates are designed for students who have previously earned a graduate degree in counseling. *Please note: Students who have obtained a previous graduate degree in counseling do not qualify for financial aid when completing any of our counseling post-master's certificates. Financial aid is available to currently enrolled students seeking a Master of Arts in Counseling degree and a specialized certificate.

Certificate Requirements


Students considering a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Post-Master's Certificate must have earned their master’s degree in counseling from a CACREP-accredited institution. Students interested in completing a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Post-Master's Certificate should first apply through the before applying to Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø, as a letter from the board is required as part of the Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø admission process.

Individuals who hold a master’s degree in counseling or social work and are interested in transitioning into a school counseling role may be eligible for the Post-Master’s Certificate in School Counseling. The Post-Master’s Certificate in Trauma Counseling is designed for individuals who hold a master’s degree in counseling, human services, healthcare or a related field. The program provides a foundational understanding of trauma and trauma-informed approaches to counseling.
